How to Make Your Own Foaming Hand Soap

The past 6 months, I have been discovering more ways that I can contribute to the health and wellness of my family by taking charge of what is in our environment and what we are putting on our skin. DIY is becoming a great friend of mine. To be honest, I used to be intimidated by DIY projects. I have found, just like setting boundaries, it gets easier each time I do it.

Today, I made 3 Foaming Bottle Soap Combos with Essential Oils.

I spent about 10 minutes total to make all three soaps. Plus, making my own soap helps keep me within our family budget and then I can use the extra money for a different area on the budget plan. I also reused the foaming hand soap bottles from Honest Company. I feel great about doing something good for the environment when I can reuse an empty bottle for something else. If you are extra crafty, you can relabel the bottles. The super crafty bug has not taken over yet, so I kept on the old bottle labels. The foam soap that comes out with my DIY mix, is really fantastic. My husband didn’t even realize I was making the hand soap until I let him in on the little secret. Here are the ones I made today:

Bye Stress Foaming Hand Soap:

  • 10 Drops of Stress Away Essential oil
  • 1/4 cup Castile Soap
  • 3/4 cup of Distilled water

Feeling Fantastic Foaming Hand Soap:

  • 5 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil – antibacterial, antiseptic, antiviral plus some other goodies including the smell and the nice sensation that peppermint gives me – made it a must for an addition to some hand wash.
  • 5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil – Lavender is an antifungal, anti-infectious, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antitoxic, regenerative and more! It is great for dry skin – so with this winter weather, I though it would be a nice touch to add to the DIY foaming hand soap.
  • 1/4 cup Castile Soap
  • 3/4 cup of Distilled water

Germs Don’t Belong on My Hands Foaming Hand Soap:

  • 5 drops of Thieves Essential Oil – a wonderful mix of oils that are antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, purifying, antiviral – with colds going around like crazy, this was the perfect addition to my third bottle of foaming hand soap.
  • 5 drops of Orange Essential Oil – I am loving the uplifting scent of orange.
  • 1/4 cup Castile Soap
  • 3/4 cup of Distilled water

You can substitute with the matching vitality line if you have those oils instead.
