Make a Memory Jar

Aw, the joy of looking back at moments that have gone and have become wonderful memories. Does anyone else love to capture moments as much as I do? Besides being addicted to taking photos, I also love to find creative and fun ways to write out or keep memories. I even have several memory journals for my little love, though I don’t write in them as much I intend. That is why this year I am making a memory jar for my family and I hope you will make one for or with yours! It is super easy and is sure to bring lots of smiles and laughs.

Just grab a jar that is not in use, decorate it any way you would like, and then cut up some paper to write the memories you want to look back on and stick them in the jar. Place it where you can see it and have small pieces of paper handy so that you can jot down a memory and place it in the jar without taking too much time hunting for the goods. Then at the end of 2017 or the beginning of 2018 read the memories!! After you are done reading them, you can place the memories in a zip lock bag to put in a keep sake box for your kiddos or yourself as you grow if you would like and then have the jar to decorate for the new year. And keep repeating this positive cycle for years to come.

Though, you do not have to have kids or a life partner to partake in this year-long activity. If you are single and ready to mingle, or single and loving your individual time, this is still something that you can enjoy! So tap into your creative side and have at it! It doesn’t have to be fancy. Take a peek at mine. Simple, yet able to get the job done! *happy sigh* life is good!! I already have a couple of memories in the jar and the year has just begun!

This is also a great way to start the new year with gratitude and happiness. It may help you feel unstoppable and full of contentment. Who doesn’t want that?!

Share a photo of your memory jar 🙂
